Sara is one of my (Trista’s) oldest friends from college. Roommates in freshman year, it was love at first site. Until I met her son, then I left her for him. Please note the Harry Potter pajamas, he has AMAZING taste.
Tannery Run Brewery
A local brewery in Ambler opened last weekend and we’re really excited that we got to capture some photos showing off the incredible character of this venue. This brewery has a unique brewing process called “splatching.” They start out with a “base” batch which is then split and those two beers are brewed differently from then on. We tasted one of their many rotating “splatch” pairings and were really impressed how the flavors were manipulated with each split batch (hence the term “splatch”). One “sibling” was a belgian-style tripel and the other was a german pilsner. Two different styles of beer but we could taste the similarities that they started out with.
Not only was the beer and food delicious, the owners at Tannery Run are also putting on some great events that you might expect from your local craft micro-brewery, like quizzo, and some others a little more unexpected, like terrarium building. If you’re nearby, definitely stop in to check them out and enjoy the great vibe shown in the photos below!
Alew in the Studio
Taking a small break from photographing adorable families, my cousin Austin (Alew) stopped by our studio. He’s a singer/songwriter that wanted some shots to use on his website and social media. After giving me an idea of what he was looking for, he gave me carte blanche to play around with different lighting setups. Like our family photography, we strive to give a variety of different looks within a single shoot. I had a lot of fun mixing up full-body, up-close details, and incorporating a couple different editing styles.
Petersons at the Historical Society
One big perk about photography is that we have the perfect reason to explore new places or, as in this case, explore places we’ve already been more deeply. We drive through Skippack all the time and even see the Revolutionary War-era reenactments that the Skippack Historical Society puts on each year. However, we have never taken the time to walk the property, which was beautiful, rustic, and captured the morning light superbly. Another example of known-areas-left-unexplored occurred when we went into town for brunch after the session (at least we thought the session was done…). We parked and were surprised by this white pergola that is completely blocked from view when just walking by! Apologies to both Chris and Henry for saying we were done then making you let us take more photos and delaying breakfast. We know Kristen didn’t mind ๐
Ivin’s Newborn Session
We waited (not-so) patiently for 39 weeks and 6 days for this big guy to make his appearance and he certainly did not disappoint! He almost didn’t fit in some of our props, which we think makes the pictures even cuter and was constantly trying to Houdini out of the swaddles. He refused to lay anywhere except on his back or side, despite much prodding and positioning. Big brother and resident cheese-ball, Brayden, could not be prouder of his baby brother. Enjoy all 9lb and 2 oz of pictures with this snuggly babe!
Fiona’s Newborn Session
This little girl arrived six weeks early and insists on experiencing everything life has to offer. This is evident by her refusing to close her eyes during our session. This didn’t have affect on her cuteness, however, as you can see from the photos below.
